Showcase Teacher: Angie Hanna

Ms. Hanna is the TAG teacher at Herrington. She uses technology throughout every day and across all of the grade levels that she interacts with. Here are just a few of the resources that she uses with her students:

  • Edmodo: submit assignments, ask questions, share links, etc
  • LiveBinders: create portfolios
  • Excel: graphing, timelines
  • Word: composition, formatting, etc
  • PowerPoint to Photostory: create a movie from a slideshow
  • Kidspiration: create mind maps and brainstorms
  • Paint: identify/color geographical details; such as continents where certain animals live
She is currently working on a project with her First and Second Graders and is excited about it because they will have PowerPoints that showcase a variety of technology integration over the course of the semester. First Grade will have used Kidspiration and Paint as well as PowerPoint to share their research. Second Grade will have used Kidspiration and Excel in their projects.

What is the one instructional technology that she can't do without?
On demand access to laptops!
If wishes could come true, what would she want to have in her classroom to enhance her instruction?
A high speed scanner!

Her thoughts on using technology in instruction:
"It really enhances student engagement and allows them to become experts, share their knowledge, and collaborate."

Coming soon...Showcase Teacher!

Periodically, I will be posting about a teacher that is doing some amazing things integrating technology into lessons. You'll find out information about the teacher, what kinds of technology they use, what technology they wish they had and a piece of technology that they now feel the can't live without!

Herrington teachers incorporate technology all the time and I'm excited to celebrate them throughout this year. Be watching this blog for your student's teacher!
